MISSION:
To provide an inspiring space where writers and creatives can focus on their art, and draw inspiration from Guatemala’s rich culture. By welcoming artists from near and far, we foster collaboration, cultural exchange, and the sustainable growth of El Paredón.
VISION:
To strengthen Guatemala’s growing artistic reputation and establish it as a leading destination for artists and writers, enhancing the cultural and economic vitality of the country while also positively impacting El Paredón.
Studio Luce welcomes writers, academics, artists, musicians and photographers to Villa Rosa, a four bedroom villa and artist studio, just a few steps from the black sand beach of El Paredón in the Sipicate-Naranjo National Park. In this beautiful space you can use our creative spaces, from the studio to the writers desks, to work on your art.
Studio Luce also showcases and promotes the artists who attend, displaying work in Villa Rosa, through our online platform and through Studio Luce’s connections within Guatemala and the wider artistic and literary community. This is all part of a wider goal to bring writers and creatives to Guatemala as part of an on-going effort to build a creative community both in the village and within the country.
Studio Luce is a registered AIR on Res Artis.
Studio Luce is located in El Paredón, a lively village on Guatemala's Pacific coast. Traditionally a fishing community, El Paredón has become one of the country's top beach destinations since 2016, thanks to its iconic black sand beach, excellent surf, turtle sanctuaries, a growing beach scene, and the surrounding mangrove ecosystem.
Every month, we donate $500 to the Buena Vista Library and its dedicated librarian, Mhajo, to support local education programs. One of Studio Luce’s founders was involved in establishing the library and the local high school, and we remain committed to ensuring their lasting presence in the village.

On top of our writing retreat, at Studio Luce we also offer marketing and media, and publicity services for authors and their books. We produce book trailers, author websites, tailored social media strategies, run publicity campaigns and empower authors to connect with their audiences and elevate their literary voices.
